In The Wee Morning Hours...

This conversation took place this morning at an absurd hour that I am not really sure of when I was awaken from an almost deep sleep by my 2 1/2 year old, who was sleeping in bed with me. (we do that when daddy is away) *this is as I remember it happening in my exausted state*

A: Mommy?.... (she said, waking me with a little nudge) I like sleeping in your bed.
Me: I know honey, I like it too.
A: Mommy?....I love you.
Me: I love you too, A.
A: Mommy?....Am i sleeping in your bed?
M: Yes, you are now, you need to roll over and go back to sleep.
A: Ok, mommy.
a few minutes later...
A: Mommy?....I like sleeping in your bed.
M: A, I know you do honey, it's alot of fun but, mommy is tired and you need to go back to sleep or you will have to go back in your own bed.
A: Ok mommy. (tossing and turning and rearranging)
a couple of minutes later...
A: Mommy?
M: A, please honey.
A: I don't want to go back in my bed...(silence)....Ok mommy....I like sleeping in your bed.
M: Yes, I know (in my drowsiest voice) It is fun. (yawning)
a few minutes later...
Nothing. (yay!)
In the morning... I tried to get out of bed without waking her up but, to no avail.
A: (with sleepy eyes) Mommy?...did I sleep in your bed?
M: Yes, you did!
A: I like sleeping in your bed.
M: I know you do honey.

A just started sleeping in a "big girl bed" so, I thought that it would be fun for her to try sleeping with mommy. It was K's turn the night before. She obviously loved it! By the way, she does fabulously in her own bed...really. I was quite surprised....and delighted! :)

What a precious story! Too bad you had to miss out on your sleep, though! We do that sometimes too, when Jeremy is out of town. My littler ones argue over whose turn it is to sleep in Mommy's bed.

She is just too sweet, G. Aren't you glad for the blog where you can write this moment down to remember when she's all grown up?!

Hehehehe this is soooo cute! My hubby keeps warning me that conversations like this are just around the corner for us. Our 17 month old isn't talking yet. We better enjoy the silence while it lasts! lol
