Best Friends?

I don't know about your kiddos but, mine do not always get along. I'm sure you are completely shocked by that statement, especially if you are looking at the photo below, right? Although they have their moments, like all siblings, there are also some very precious moments.
Yesterday, during his quiet time my son had filled a gift bag with some of his toys and books that he wanted to give to his sister. He is a very generous boy and loves to give. After their quiet time "K" presented the bag to her sister. She was so excited that her brother was sharing some of his favorites with her. Some time had passed and I overheard her from the dining room saying "K, I love YOU more than the gift." That was quite a notable moment for me. I must admit, I did get a little misty over that one. All of the rough moments just seemed to fade into the background. That will be one of those "remember when" moments when they get older for sure.

And lastly... I wouldn't trade being a mom for anything in the world.

Memories Of Mom...and GIVEAWAY!

I've been talking about doing a giveaway for awhile now and being that Mother's day is almost here, I found it the perfect opportunity. All you have to do is leave me a comment of a fond memory you have of your mom. Then, I will throw all of your names in a hat (or some other container) and draw one. That's it. Oh, and if you mention this giveaway on your blog, I'll enter you twice! What will you be winning... Both pairs can be yours!
They are both made with sterling silver ear wires. I tried to pick earrings that would compliment any style so that's why I chose two pair. You can keep one and give one away or keep them both, it's up to you. So, start reminiscing. I'll keep this open until Sunday Evening. (Monday, if need be.) Oh, and I'll ship anywhere so, don't worry if you live in another country...I've got you covered!
Here's a fond memory of my mom...
My mom was great at Birthdays. She had a way of making us feel extra-special. She always let us choose what we wanted for our "Birthday Dinners". For awhile I remember choosing pork roast and sauerkraut. I'm not sure why, I just liked it and she made it the best! I remember on my 13th (or 14th) Birthday, I happened to be grounded (which was not unusual for me). I was definitely bummed about it. My mom made me go to my brother's tee-ball game with my dad that day and I wasn't so thrilled about it. When we got home, my mom asked me to take the basket of laundry to my room and put my clothes away. Well, I walked in to my room and out popped 3 of my friends to surprise me! Of course, I was so happy. I still think my mom grounded me just to make the surprise even better. :) We had a great sleepover with good food and of course, cake and ice cream! My 16th Birthday was over the top, complete with a DJ (who happened to be a friend of mine), pizza party and tons of my friends. My mom rented a local hall to hold the event. She also had my cousin come in from Ohio to surprise me. I will never forget that day. I remember almost all of my birthdays because my mom made sure that they were unforgettable. Thanks mom for making me feel so special. I love you.
Happy Mother's Day!
