Right now I'm listening to my son playing african beats on my keyboard. Believe it or not, it is quite soothing. I have been giving K piano lessons for the past few weeks and he can now succesfully play "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" or "The Alphabet Song" whichever you prefer, and he can play the "C" scale. He is quite proud of himself, as am I. He likes to sing along while he plays the scale. Not that I'm bragging (well, maybe I am) but, he also has a great sense of rhythm. We were listening to music today while making brownies and he began hitting the countertop to the beat of the music...in perfect rhythm- no joke. Maybe he'll be a drummer. He'll definitely be musical, in my opinion, he already is. Now, A on the other hand loves to dance. It all started when she was watching Sesame Street one day and there was a segment about Irish Step dancing. She came into the kitchen, and said "mommy, I need my princess skirt and party shoes" she calls her black patent leather mary janes, "party shoes". "I want to do Irishin' steppin' dance." Of course, I cracked up and dressed her up in her little outfit and she went to town trying to emulate the little dancers on tv. Yesterday, she came to me and asked the same thing but, with a sense of urgency. "Mommy, it is important that I do Irish Step dance." She said it right this time. She's had some practice. We're not Irish but, what the heck..dance like a little Irish girl!
Alright, I guess that's enough of the doting mom post. Hey, I'm proud of my little kiddos, who isn't?

Hey, all mommies are supposed to brag on their children. Go right ahead! It sounds like K is becoming quite the little musician! And A wanting to do the "Irishin' Steppin' dance" sounds absolutely adorable!! :)
