We've had a crazy weekend so far. Friday Night, I hosted a book club meeting in my home and we all had a lovely time. We discussed the book Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. I highly recommend it. That night, Kent took the kids out for ice cream and playing in the toy section of Wal-Mart, and K came back with a big wish list :) Yesterday, my mother-in-law and her male friend came and spent the day with us. K and A were so excited to see their nana. They had to try on their Harvest party costumes and parade around the house. It was a busy day. Then, last night at about 11:30pm, we heard K crying. Kent got up to see what was wrong. His cry sounded like he was hurting or something was not right. I heard him tell Kent he had a tummy ache and all of the sudden, I don't know what it was...call it mother's instinct or whatever but, I knew he was going to get sick. I jolted out of bed into the bathroom, and sure enough within minutes, he was vomiting. My poor baby. It was so strange. He was fine all day, he didn't eat anything out of the ordinary. He was definitely scared. The last time he had thrown up, he was ava's age. I rubbed his back, cleaned him up and lysol-ed all over the place. I was thinking..."the rest of us cannot get sick." "This weekend is the BASIC conference and we need to be healthy." but, the most important thing, of course is that he was OK. I got up several times through the night to check on him, and he had a fever around 3am so, I gave him some tylenol. Then, this morning he woke up around 7:30am, bounding out of his room, color back in his cheeks and ready to eat breakfast. I didn't go to church with him this morning because I wanted to make sure he was OK. Now, it's 10:45am and he is totally normal. I guess it must have just been a little "bug" or something. Not fun. I hate when my kids are sick. I felt awful for him last night, I actually started crying. This morning he asked me "mommy, were you sad when i was throwing up in the toilet?" It's bad enough when adults are that sick but, when it's your child, you just feel so helpless for them. Well, I think we are in the clear now. The last couple months He has been off and on with sickness. I think it might be because of him starting school but, up until recently he had only been sick a handful of times in his life so far. Anyway, enough of the sick talk. I'm glad he seems to be doing better. Kent took A to church with him so, that's been a welcome break.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I feel the same way when my kids are sick. Eve has had two bouts with throwing up in her life and it always makes me so sad. Both times she was just too young to really understand what was going on.
I also feel sad for myself because I know just how much laundry will be involved in the process :)
Glad he seems to be doing better! I hope it was just a singular event and none of you guys catch it!

Glad that Kole is feeling better and hopefully just an isolated case of the yukkies! By the way, I didn't have your email, so I just posted the directions to the Message Boards on my blog...if you have any questions, just give a yell.
I know what you mean when your kids are sick...it is aweful...especially when they have an upset tummy and throw up. I hope you are all staying healthy!
If only we could kiss it and make it all better! It's so hard to watch them feel discomfort. Hope you guys are feeling good this week. Would love to get together soon and catch up!
BTW - I love the music on your blog (we have similar taste - I think) Last week I minimized your blog while I balanced my checkbook just to listen to the tunes!
i think you would really enjoy the new book Brown Like Coffee at brownlikecoffee.com
