Baby Powder isn't just for baby bums!

I WISH I had a picture to show you because it would make this story much better if you could actually see it but, my husband has the camera so, you're just going to have to imagine to the best of your ability.

Yesterday, I was cleaning up the dishes after lunch and my kids were playing nicely in their rooms. As I turned the water off, I noticed that it was too quiet. All of you moms know exactly what that means. I walked back to their rooms and noticed A's door was closed. I opened the door.....and walked into a white cloud. A white dusty cloud of baby powder! I said, "what is going on here?" "A got the powder out, mommy" K said. "How did she get it out?" I asked, knowing that it was impossible because of the child-proof lock on the cabinet it was in. Come to find out, the "child-proof" lock is not so child-proof, at least not for 4 year olds. He opened it up and they had a field-day with the powder and it wasn't just a sprinkling, it was EVERYWHERE!
In the bed, on the floor, on top of the drawers. the window sills, the curtains, her toy basket, books...you name it, it was covered. It was a big bottle of powder. :) I looked at A very closely and her hair was covered. I just ran my fingers through her hair and dust flew out. That is when I started to laugh. I laughed hard. Then K thought he was going to get away with it but...of course, he did not, and neither did A who knows that cabinet is off-limits. That's why I put the lock there in the first place.

The plus side of this was, the carpet in her room is now fresh and her hair won't get greasy for another week or so. :) Another pro is that it wasn't the cleaning cabinet with something that could have hurt them badly. phew!

Maybe I should write to the Safety First people about their so-called lock system. If only I had a picture. :)

I would have busted out laughing too! It's almost the only thing that will keep you sane in a moment like that. I'm sure A's room smells great!
