Overwhelmed...not what you think.

Have you ever just been going about your day, spending time with the kids, and one of them looks up at you with their beautiful little eyes and your heart is suddenly filled with this warm, overwhelming feeling of love in your heart for them? It happens to me quite a bit...except during tantrums. :) Yesterday, while A was napping, K and I went outside to play because it was beautiful. He rode his bike, played on the swingset, then we raced around and played tag. He asked me if he could climb a tree and I said "yes." He grabbed my hand and said "let's go." A couple of seconds later, he looked up at me and said "I love you mommy". That's when it started. I picked him up and swooped him around (kind of like what you would see in the movies) It was an absolutely perfect moment. I forgot about all of the tantrums and "no's" and "I don't want-to's", etc... It made me think...I wonder if how I feel right now is how God feels about me? Ephesians 3:17-19 says "That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." He loves us ALOT, more than we can comprehend. Whoa, that's hard to fathom. So now, the question I ask myself is...how much do I love Him? That's another blog. :)

I apprecite your simple question and how much it has made me think and examine my own heart.

I had a moment like that with Juli this evening as we were snuggling before bed - she looked up and smiled and I just filled right up. Isn't it amazing the love we can have for these little ones He's given us?
